Quiz: Is Your Cat's Water Station Well Placed?

A free, no-signup mini quiz to review how your cat's drinking area is arranged. Think about each question, then expand the answer. We collect no answers or personal information. A clean water bowl is enough: a fountain is not required.

Five questions for a cat-friendly home

1. The water bowl is right beside the litter tray. Good location?

Not ideal. Keep drinking water separate from the litter tray and, where practical, from food. A quiet spot can help your cat access water comfortably. Water station placement tips.

2. My cat can drink in two different places. Is that unnecessary?

No. More than one accessible water station can be useful. Keep a separate bowl available if you also use a fountain.

3. Does a fountain remove the need to clean and replace water?

No. Moving and filtered water still needs regular replacement, and the reservoir and accessible parts require cleaning. Follow the product's instructions. Fountain care guide.

4. My cat sometimes prefers the bowl. Should I force a switch?

No. Keep the familiar water station and give your cat time to explore. A fountain is optional, and preferences differ from cat to cat. How to introduce a fountain gently.

5. My cat suddenly drinks much more or less. Is it just the bowl?

Not necessarily. A noticeable change in thirst or behaviour calls for veterinary advice. This quiz is not a diagnosis and cannot replace veterinary care.
